This kit utilizes the mitochondrial genes cytochrome oxidase I (COI.) and cytochrome B (Cyt B) and cytochrome oxidase II (COII.) as molecular identification targets for 10 cell lines commonly used in the production of biologics. Multiplex PCR technology enables species identification and cross-contamination detection based on the presence or absence of PCR amplification of a given set of primers and the size of the PCR amplicons.
